The Hipsters

Are an urban tribe whose storyline goes back to early last century. In order to identify the main features is good detail the historical events that led to his birth:
-1917 Converse shoe presents its "All-Star", which will be maintained thereafter between popularity and infamy intermittently.
-1944 First appears in the word Hipster glossary accompanying jazz album Harry Gibson Boogie Woogie in Blue. Used to define "a person who enjoys hard jazz"
-1950 John Deere Launches cap characteristic influence on the birth of the trucker cap, which in turn is influenced by the birth of Punk `d (the Reality Show Ashton Kutcher)
-1966
The model Twiggy poses for photos for the first time. The thinness never go out of style
-1970 Born store chain Urban Outfitters in Philadelphia. Surely the store as it looked like now.
-1974 The designer Vivienne Westwood and her husband Malcolm McLaren sold shirts and clothes torn rubber sadomaso style. Starts the punk movement, jeans grafitteados (and the Sex Pistols) come.
Elvis Costello -1977 lenses paste immortalized in his Album My Aim is True
-1981 MTV begins to cauterize the collective unconscious with a million images from the 80s which ironically then be honored.
Start the tourNevermind -1991 and Kurt Cobain of Nirvana becomes grunge fashion icon
-1996 All this is summarized in Williamsburg. The low-income artists start to prefer this area since the 70s, and by the mid-90s have turned the site into a colony of people with looks retro / ironic.
-2002 The hipster enters the mainstream: celebrities and teenagers covet Von Dutch cap using Ashton Kutcher on MTV.
-2003 The New York Times states that the trucker cap fashion rose (indicating that fashion had to spend a year earlier). Exits the book The Hipster Handbook, finally burying any chance that this trend be moving again.
The skinny jeans, trucker caps, lenses pasta, shirts with slogan, Blue Ribbon beer, the Vans and Converse are renegades by the media and Hipsters themselves but remain massively consumed by ordinary people and others that are considered "cool". (Excerpt from Time Out New York. May 2007)

So what is a hipster?
The Hipster is "someone who has tastes and social attitudes that gentecool considered as such. (Note: When you use the word loses all possibility coolse be). The Hipster walks among the mass daily but is not part of this . Evita and demonizes anything that the bulk of the population considers interesting. Ideally possesses no more than 2% of body mass. " (Lanham, The Hipster Handbook. 2003)

How to detect? (According to the University Chronicle article, April 2009)

1. - Talk mode question: Will you go to the store? This may tend to confuse you because you never know if you ask the opinion or just do not know articulated.

2. - Listen to Indie music in which the singer often sounds bored or drugged.

3. - I like movies of Wes Anderson and Terry Gilliam. Debate on the cinema of the French New Wave and documentaries are like a wet dream for him instantly gives them useless knowledge and a false sense of superiority.

4. - Look for Thrift Shop: This is perhaps one of its most peculiar because although it appears that the hipster does not buy used clothing stores. Your cost bohemian look (their parents) more than you earn in two months.

5. - They will walk in bicletas setentoso design.

6. - Defend the environment, the right to criticize and make you feel guilty if you have a car. But invariably prefer to take them to go by bike.

7. - His knowledge of television culture is particularly impressive because the hipster NO TELEVISION. For them, if the visual garbage looking at a computer screen will not do the same damage.

8. - I love movies the foreign languages, especially English subtitles (has all the Criterion Collection)

9. - You are vegetarian repeated a hundred times how good they are organic food compared to what you are eating.

In May 2007 the magazine Time Out New York declared the Tribe Hipster Non Grata ina city special edition tituladaEl Hipster Must Die. The writer Robert Lanham (author of The Guide sin of the evangelical right, the Food Court Druids and Hipster Handbook) ensured that even then elHipster had died. "My book was an attempt to unmask the pseudo-bohemian movement. Indicated that there hipsters I understand that cultural trends end when they reach the ground .

At last i just want to conclude expressing that the tolerance with every single type of  subcultural expressions it´s important  because they have the liberty to live their lifes  like young people  , they  just want to be part of something .
